A real noob question: External provider points subdomain weblog.example.com to my dedicated server. How would I resolve this in my own DirectAdmin account? (the main domain and mail are directed to another server by the provider)

Actions already taken
- domain provider created A record weblog.example.com => xx.xx.xxx.xx
- In my DirectAdmin: created user with domain example.com
- In my DirectAdmin: unchecked 'Use this server to handle my emails'

Do I need to create the subdomain weblog.example.com in my DirectAdmin account?
Do I need to delete any default A or MX records?
Any other actions needed to make this work?

You dont have to mess with any dns stuff. If the nameserver is not hosted on your box then its not gonna matter. Nothing except the local box will look at that nameserver. Just create the A record and setup the domain and go.
