how to set DNS

you should point your domain name to server ip in your Domain Management
with custom record
Example: A :: ns1.domain.com :: 1.2.3.4
and wait some hour or more it's upto your Domain Provider
after that you can test with ping, telnet to ns1.domain.com
with custom record

I am using vps and the hosts says.I must set dns my self...
seem like I told not clear.
You should custom record in you Domain Provider Controller and not in your server

I have set up in Direct Admin as well as in the domain provider ... but apparently my DNS is not available on the internet ...
How do you settings ?
GLUE records? or just change nameserver in domain ?
you need to setting with GLUE records for use like ns1.domain.com
when change some record, need waiting for a day.

how can i set Glue records?
goto your Domain Provider Guide and find it.
or connect with cloudflare and make grey cloud. Because It's don't need proxy, Use for only custom record. It's easy setting record
You can find out simple record need to set by goto DA Panel -> DNS Control Manager
