How to stop New Message: The service 'named' on server abcd.com is curren

I stopped named service intentionally since I'm using external name server.

(followed instrcutions from Jonh at this thread http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1761 )



How do I stop the messages " New Message: The service 'named' on server server.abc.com is currently down:"

that are sent to my email by directadminl ?

I think you should be able to remove it by editing
/usr/local/directadmin/admin/services.status
and remove the "Named=ON"

As a small addon to koh's answer.
The file services.status is actually located in /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin

I changed the line named=ON into named=OFF for all my DA servers, because I'm also using seperate nameservers. This will prevent DA from checking if named is running.
