How to update an installation?

Hello!

I'm new to directadmin so when I first installed I did it using a safe way (more tested, etc) with php4.x and apache 1.x, there's nothing wrong here, everything works fine!

What I'd like to do is to do an update and switch to a custombuild with the latest softwares, as apache, php, etc. Can that be done, if so how? If there's any documnet which explains how to do this then sorry if I missed it.

And one more thing, to update to the latest releases from custombuild it is requiered for you to have directadmin installed with a custombuild? Prolly yes.. but I am not sure..

There are threads on these forums that walk you through a custombuild install; if you're not comfortable you can hire an experienced admin to do the work for you.

And to answer your question, yes, you can't use custombuild unless you use it ;).
