How to use File manager instead of FTP?

Hi,
I'm pretty new with making new websites etc. So excuse my ignorance.

I have a domain setup that is redirected to an affiliate type website.

I now want to create just a simple page like this...

www.domain.com/page

Under public_html in the filemanager I've made a folder named "page"

Under page I've made a file named index.html

Within the index.html I've put the page contents in html

I can click on the index.html and my web page shows perfectly.

Then I go to www.domain.com/page in a new browser window and it redirects just like it would when I type www.domain.com into my browser.

I still want the redirect to function for www.domain.com but would like to be able to see the www.domain.com/page like I do when I click on index.html

I don't really want to get an FTP right now as I'm already in information overload. If I can just simply upload this page correctly within the file manager that would be fantastic.

Any help would be apppreciated.

Thanks,
Murray

This issue has nothing to do with whether you use the file manager or ftp. This is an issue of how redirects work.

I'd strongly suggest you find a reference on html programming.
