I wanted to divide my dedicated server into VPS with properly allocated power. Can you advise me on the best solution that will allow me to split and assign different parameters for each VPS?

for newbies, I don't recommend to use Proxmox. atleast you need time to learning about Virtualization.

XCP-ng is a good ways to start learning.

to make VPS you need 2 IP, one for your Hoster( Dedicate Server ) and one for your VPS.

Thanks Guys for all the information. This is how I started learning and I am only at the beginning of the road, and the next stage of my learning is server virtualization.

I had just read a lot about Proxmox with integration WHMCS before, and wanted to make sure I was going in the right direction.
By the way, if we're here, I'd like to hear yours idea with this.

Can anyone give me a recommendation on how much I am able to divide such a dedicated server for VPS with the following parameters?

Dedicated server parametrs:
  • AMD Ryzen™ 7 3700X
  • Octa-Core
    Matisse (Zen2)
    Simultaneous Multithreading
    Virtualization (AMD-V)
  • 64 GB DDR4 ECC
  • NVME 2 x 1 TB
How many VPS servers will be able to support such a server to work properly?

I wanted to split into a VPS with parameters:
VPS: 4 vCPU Cores 8 GB RAM 50 GB NVMe

Im not sure with this one thing. In this case, is the physical RAM limited to me and I can only do 64/8 = 8 VPS ?

I checked it on various calculations, but I would like to know good knowledge from this forum. Thanks for all the information.

better not to oversell RAM, also NODE needs 2gb ram at least. If filesystem ZFS - also keep 4-8gb free.
And if your users with alive projects - you can't oversell more than 2 times, without productivity impact, with moderate projects - oversell of CPU can be near 3x.

so with your package optimal is 6 VPSs, also you can give 100gb each if you don't make backups, or 75gb each if you want to store 1 copy.

Okay. thanks for the introduction;)

I checked most of the dedicated servers from popular vendors also from most cheap vendors.

After converting the price of dedicated server virtualization, e.g.

Dedicated server:
AMD Ryzen™ 7 3700X
128 GB DDR4 ECC
2x 1 TB NVMe SSD
total price: € 88.06

From this I can do example 14 VPS. 88.06 / 14VPS
with below parametrs:
VPS: 4 vCPU Cores 8 GB RAM 50 GB NVMe

my cost: 88.06/14 = 6,29 euro per VPS

and now... What do you think about it ? (pricing) https://contabo.com/en/vps/

With the same parametrs here is CLOUD VPS S €4.99 / month

Is their price unbeatable? Because I have checked most of the dedicated server offers, and I am not even able to match the price at the cost for which vps servers are offered.
