Hi,

Just got DA installed last night. Before I go too far down this road, I would like input from others.

My primary domain - colony.net is just that, my primary domain for many things. I run my own seperate mail server which will continue and will not use exim for email for this domain.

I followed the instructions to setup my main domain name in DA - colony.net and it created the DNS records for it. I realize I can basically ignore those as I have other DNS servers already - but will create the additional name server records for the hosted domains on this box.

Per a suggestion from someone else, I want to create a reseller under this domain. From the email exchange I got from support, I understand I don't have to have a reseller account for this purpose, but I think it is probably best.

The downside being that the reseller domain is the same as my main domain name - which of course can't be entered in 2 places.

But what do you folks that have been using DA and may have encountered this think?

Another thing, I host a couple of websites for my cousin. One has email on my main mail server which I think will stay there, the other domain currently has no email, but would like to give her email on the DA server.

I guess I could move the mail for domain 1 to the DA site - that would make things cleaner for me on my other mail server - as well as making it easier to deal wiwth in regards to DNS.

Her main domain is fortino.net, I also have fortino.info which currently points to the same place. I am not sure how to do this in DA. Any hints?

Since she would have this main domain, with another one as an overlay and a second seperate active site, would you create a special user package for her or just make her a reseller? (she isn't very technical so I want to make it as easy as possible for her and me).

I have been looking over the manual, but some of these things are not something the manual can really address, it is more a matter of what has been most practical for others.

I also face a deadline to get certain sites moved from the existing server by Sept 7th, so I am hoping I can jumpstart some of this based on others experience right now, then get up to speed when I have more time to read the docs more completely.

Thanks

Dale

You ask a lot of questions which either are have no one answer, or for which answers can be found by reading the forums.

I'd like to be able to help you, but frankly, I don't even know where to start. And I don't have an hour right now, anyway.

So, after reading the forums and trying to learn from them, can you please post the important questions for which you can't find answers, one at a time?

Thanks.

Jeff
