Htaccess Issue

recently started wanting to use htaccess from with directadmin
on further inspection the .htaccess file is being created in the requested protected folder, however the .htpasswd file/folders are not, i'd really appreciate some assistance here.

can you be more clear?

trying to figure out what you want to do (the .htpasswd should never be put in public_html as someone could just download it and crack it. much safer to be kept offline)

nothing like that , the .htpasswd file isn't being created where the .htaccess file is looking for it.

ohh. that's odd. i would email DA support, could be a bug.
