.htaccess not working

I have a fresh DA installed in my vps .
Apache version 2.2.27 php 5.3 And only wordpress installed .

When i setup permalinks using wordpress admin console .htaccess file does not create also if i create it manually its does not working .


mod_rewirte module already loaded
[root@srv]# httpd -l|grep mod_rewrite
mod_rewrite.c

If wordpress cannot create files in a directory of your site, then probably you should re-configure your server and run PHP either as mod_php+mod_ruid2 or as CGI (suPHP). Please search the forums for guides on how to implement any of them.

If ".htaccess not working" then it's either empty or contains wrong directives. What it's content?
