I don't know what it was I did today but I can't access my DA panel remotely. I'm getting emails from DA warning me that httpd and proftpd are not started. The System Information page shows that Apache and ProFTPd are *** Stopped ***.

When I try and start httpd I get an error that says:
Starting httpd: httpd: apr_sockaddr_info_get() failed for its.server
httpd: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName
Earlier I tried to add a second IP address to eth1 in the CentOS Network configuration panel "System->Administration-> Network" but I've since disabled eth1 and rebooted several times.

I checked /etc/hosts and it "looked" right to me. I checked /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and I don't see anywhere to put my IP address. I may be looking in all the wrong places...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please ask for more details if needed.

uname -n

I found this on another forum and ran it /usr/local/directadmin/scripts/hostname.sh its.server.local. Then I did a uname -n the result is my correct server name box.server.local. I then went to the DA System Info page locally and Apache and ProFTPd are running again. But, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2222 still wont resolve to DA from the outside.

We can guess at what the problem could be or you can give us the ip address and we can do some serious checking.

And if your hostname is really box.server.local then it can't be correct as the hostname must be routable.
