# Set various options for the SSL engine.
# o FakeBasicAuth:
# Translate the client X.509 into a Basic Authorisation. This means that
# the standard Auth/DBMAuth methods can be used for access control. The
# user name is the `one line' version of the client's X.509 certificate.
# Note that no password is obtained from the user. Every entry in the user
# file needs this password: `xxj31ZMTZzkVA'.
# o ExportCertData:
# This exports two additional environment variables: SSL_CLIENT_CERT and
# SSL_SERVER_CERT. These contain the PEM-encoded certificates of the
# server (always existing) and the client (only existing when client
# authentication is used). This can be used to import the certificates
# into CGI scripts.
# o StdEnvVars:
# This exports the standard SSL/TLS related `SSL_*' environment variables.
# Per default this exportation is switched off for performance reasons,
# because the extraction step is an expensive operation and is usually
# useless for serving static content. So one usually enables the
# exportation for CGI and SSI requests only.
# o CompatEnvVars:
# This exports obsolete environment variables for backward compatibility
# to Apache-SSL 1.x, mod_ssl 2.0.x, Sioux 1.0 and Stronghold 2.x. Use this
# to provide compatibility to existing CGI scripts.
# o StrictRequire:
# This denies access when "SSLRequireSSL" or "SSLRequire" applied even
# under a "Satisfy any" situation, i.e. when it applies access is denied
# and no other module can change it.
# o OptRenegotiate:
# This enables optimized SSL connection renegotiation handling when SSL
# directives are used in per-directory context.

error logs I looked at were the ones in the httpd folder if thats the right place to be looking :-s

Hey,

You might try removing or commenting out this line in your httpd.conf file:

LoadModule php4_module /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.so

David

ah yes that worked apache starts now hehe.

I have a new issue now..

I cannot get php to execute...when creating a phpinfo page and trying to view it I just get a blank page....

help :(

DA guys arent available there not answering my e-mails :( which has supprised me as e-mail support is normally top notch from them.

I gave up trying to get php5 to work and reverted back to php 4.4 by reinstalling da... didnt have clients on this box luckly so not a problem hehe.

but ive still got the same problem.. just a blank white page... any clues?

im running kiss firewall would this be causing the prob?

thanks.

try to run in your shell :
#php -v
and see if it has a segmentation fault. The errors in the browser window is shown only if it is configured in php.ini.

PHP 5.2.2 (cli) (built: Jul 31 2007 08:49:43)
Copyright (c) 1997-2007 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2007 Zend Technologies

thats what i get...

which is odd considering ive re installed DA lmao.

so I guess i need to configure php.ini then?

EDIT: any ideas where this ini file is stored on a centOS 4.4 64bit os?

cant seem to find it. looked in the php-5.2.2. folder its not in there found configure.php done the adjustments it said in the official upgrade tutorial but still no joy on displaying a phpinfo output :(

No, the problem is in you httpd.conf file :) If you want - I can take a look at it what's wrong now. If not - please post it again.

# o ExportCertData:
# This exports two additional environment variables: SSL_CLIENT_CERT and
# SSL_SERVER_CERT. These contain the PEM-encoded certificates of the

# authentication is used). This can be used to import the certificates
# into CGI scripts.
# o StdEnvVars:
# This exports the standard SSL/TLS related `SSL_*' environment variables.

# because the extraction step is an expensive operation and is usually
# useless for serving static content. So one usually enables the

above is what my config looks like...

got a feeling the problem is this...

suPHP_Engine on
suPHP_ConfigPath /usr/local/etc/php5/cgi/
suPHP_AddHandler x-httpd-php
suPHP_AddHandler x-httpd-php5

/usr/local/etc/php5/cgi/ there is no such directory lmao.

what is the suPHP_config path? is it the area to where the php stuff is? cause thats in...

/usr/local/directadmin/customapache/php-5.2.2 and same directory but /main on the end is where the php_inc_c file is.

grr this is getting anoying why cant php5 come with directadmin. would of thought so in this day n age.

You need to remove:
Code:
LoadModule php4_module /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.so

haha I know its a long time since I did web design lol...

I didnt include any of the html formatting to tell the web broswer it was an actual webpage hence why nothing was displaying...now works like a charm lmao.

thanks for everyones help :D

after doing more tests with the info.php file I realised it was the way notepad had encoded the file that was the problem as I used the same bit of code in a dw document just the php by itself and it worked fine hehe :D

Notepad? Why would you be using Notepad? The idea is to make a copy of any file your going to modify then use pico, vi or ee (freebsd) to make your changes. Then you dont get erroneous characters and carriage returns, spaces and junk in your file. If your using Notepad offline then uploading your files, you can expect nothing but issues. I would never ever edit a system file such as httpd.conf or a config file on my PC then upload the results. Then you are really asking for trouble.

pucky, you're presuming that flumps has shell access. Not everyone does.

flumps, you can usually create or edit a file using the File Manager built in to DirectAdmin.
