Hello,
I have been troubleshooting an issue with httpd not starting. I've checked all the logs and even turned on debugging in the logging. They don't say anything.
When I issue service httpd fullstatus I get:
When I issue httpd -f /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
I get nothing
When I issue httpd -f /etc/httpd/conf/ips.conf
I've run a trace and this is what shows up:
the lines with no such file or directory are puzzling.
From time to time if I keep trying to start it will say:
Starting httpd: (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
But when I check to see if it's listening on the ports nothing. running lsof or netstat with flags nothing shows up. I even ps aux with grep of service to see if anything and nothing.
FYI this is a VM.
I've already reinstalled vmware tools.
I also rebuilt apache just for giggles.
Any help is appreciated.

the lines with no such file or directory are puzzling.
From time to time if I keep trying to start it will say:
Starting httpd: (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
But when I check to see if it's listening on the ports nothing. running lsof or netstat with flags nothing shows up. I even ps aux with grep of service to see if anything and nothing.
FYI this is a VM.
I've already reinstalled vmware tools.
I also rebuilt apache just for giggles.
Any help is appreciated.
