im having a serios problem on 2 of my servers. The strange thing is that these servers are both new, freshly installed 1 1/2months ago.
They were both running fine without any problem until a few days ago when httpd started to crash ( it crashes like 3 times dayly)
Nothing has changed in the configuration, nor on my websites that are on these servers ( servers run only my own websites)
1 server is a Dual core with 2GB memory, running Redhat ( latest version) and DA
the other server is a P4 3Ghz with 1GB memory, running CentOs with DA
Error logs show the same errors on both servers:
[Fri May 18 14:24:05 2007] [warn] child process 17418 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM
[Fri May 18 14:24:05 2007] [warn] child process 6473 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM

A restart of httpd helps for a few minits, before the load goes way up again.
This is happening on both servers, strange thing is that they were running perfectly until about a week ago.
Since httpd keeps craching i notice very high CPU loads (96% and higher)
often caused by (only) 2 apache processes only ( ex. one apache process takes up 64% cpu, while another uses up 32% ) ( In the weeks before the top load was like 60-70%, caused by 15 simultanios apache processes. How can 2 apache processes become so cpu intensive all of a sudden?
This is killing my sites, visitor drops with 40% already, and with the server cpu constantly high, the sites dont respond, or respond very slow.
Please help
