hello,

why in my dedicated server I can't send mail with mail() function??

this is the code:

in another server this code sent the email.

This is a wild guess, but is register_globals on or off in your php.ini? If it's off, then your code above will not work. Change your php.ini or your code accordingly.

Edit: I posted after you posted your phpinfo. So my guess was correct, change the register_globals option.
 
GXX is probably wrong: register_globals set to On only allows $_REQUEST and similar input arrays to be reached using the internal names directly. For example $email instead of $_POST['email'].
This has nothing to do with the given script, and it's also highly discouraged for security reasons.

Actually, I think I'm right.

If you take a quick peek at your php.ini, it tells you what on and off does:

; You should do your best to write your scripts so that they do not require
; register_globals to be on; Using form variables as globals can easily lead
; to possible security problems, if the code is not very well thought of.

So yes, by default it should 'off'. However, to get the OPs script to work, it has to be re-written OR he has to change register_globals to 'on'.

You are correct at least in half your post -- setting register_globals to 'on' can cause security problems.
 
I'm sorry, but I've to disagree :(

When on, register_globals will inject your scripts with all sorts of variables, like request variables from HTML forms.

The above script doesn't use a form.

I would agree that register_globals has to be On if the script was like that:

This script needs register_globals=On to work.

The above one sets all variables directly in PHP, there are no $_GET or $_POST.

@santovito: sorry, I almost forgot to help your with your problem :)
You should look at the error file of the domain under which you are trying this script; you should see what's going wrong.
If it's an MTA problem and not PHP's, check instead the exim/mainlog log.

Yup, I stand corrected. For some reason, I read that as code that processed a form. How I did that? I don't know. I guess we'll wait for the OP to come back with an update.
