I have generated one..

got the certificate, then stupidly made a new request (which I think changed the first key) now if I use the certificate it gives me a mismatch.

are the generated keys stores somewhere?

Peace,

There was a thread on this about a week or so ago.

Creating a new CSR will overwrite the old key with a new one.

So you'll need to get the cert reissued.

Some vendors will reissue it at no charge. EV1 won't. FreeSSL won't unless you've bought the insurance. We will if the original cert is bought from us.

Hey,

No one has mentioned it but, it's a real good practice to rename the key once it is generated.

And of course back it up somewhere.

Do both imediately after it's generated and don't kid yourself that you can/will do it later.

Helpful advice, I hope.

Since the private key shows up in the control panel after it's generated, we just copy it and save it on the local system.

Then we can paste it back in when we get the cert.
