i want to install with PHP4 and MYSQL 4

We prefer CentOS; you can use any supported OS as long as you're familiar with it and don't mind not being on the OS that DirectAdmin is originally written on.

If you use customapache you'll be using both PHP4 and MySQL4.

However, you CAN use custombuild and still choose both PHP4 and MySQL4.

Just a small correction: MySQL depends on OS, e.g. if you have CentOS 4 - you will have MySQL 4.1 and if you have CentOS 5 - you will have MySQL 5.0 by default :)

Thanks, Martynas; I've never installed CentOS5 with customapache, and didn't realize that.
