So this was a working server, not newly installed server?

If it's a working server, which Debian version are you using?
Did you install updating your Debian OS first with apt?

Hi, I've not updated the OS for 459 days based on server uptime. and I'm using Debian 9.3 (stretch)
It was working fine 2 months ago.

Debian should be capable to do distribution update (there are some sidemarks , search the forum).
Don't forget to execute rebuild all after upgrade.

If this is an VPS take an snapshot to be safe

Can I update my OS without reinstalling and using DirectAdmin after updating the OS?.
Be sure to update it good, if needed twice.
Because both 9 and 10 are not supported anymore by Directadmin.

So in the end you need to update to at least Debian 11.
Also be aware if you're on a legacy license, the last Debian you can use is Debian 12.

And it would be better to update your server regularly with the normal updates. ;)

You can search the forums for similar threads. I don't have Debian so I don't know if you can upgrade at once (or if that is smart) from Debian 9 to Debian 12. Maybe @Zhenyapan or another Debian user or maybe @exlhost knows of you can do that directly or via 10 and 11 first.

I do know that normally it works good and after upgrading the OS you can give the da build all command so everything is recompiled (without loss of data) against the new OS files.

Hi, zEitEr

thank you for your help.

I tried to check my current DirectAdmin and got the same error.

It seems there are two solutions to fix this issue based on my research:
  1. Update my Debian OS from version 9.13 to version 11 or 12
  2. Downgrade the DA version to an older version compatible with my Debian 9.13
(It seems someone on my team unintentionally updated the DA version to a newer version)
Is there a way to downgrade my DA Version?.

Did you try the solution from the link above? I would expect the current or stable channel to be used by you, and I believe this way you will get the latest working binary for your OS.

If it does not work you will need to open a ticket with DirectAdmin support or upgrade OS.
