Hello,

Does anyone know the best way to get the quotas for a mail user using IMAP or some other method? I'm trying to get a quota plugin for SquirrelMail working and get the following error when I enable it:

Your IMAP server does not have IMAP4 QUOTA extension. Quotas not enabled.

I'm currently using Dovecot and found this article on their site:

http://wiki.dovecot.org/Quota

Will this cause any problems with Dovecot or DirectAdmin? If not, is there a way for DA to set this up as a default for Dovecot?

It might be possible to implement the Maildir quota method. But DirectAdmin already allows mailbox quotas for virtual mailboxes. Are you saying they don't work?

I've found this problem too. I'm developing an IMAP client which will run on a DA server (connecting to the imap server, and doing different things with emails), and I need it to be quota-aware, so I was trying to implement the GETQUOTA and GETQUOTAROOT IMAP commands, and saw that they were not implemented in Dovecot (or at least in my current configuration).

Question is: if I enable any of the quota backends that are on Dovocet's wiki, so that I can use those IMAP methods, will it work ok with DA?

Has anybody done this before?

Thanks!
