imapd with php 5.2.5 x86_64

I just can't seem to get this to work. I have tried all instructions including compiling with fPIC. However, when compiling I get the ssl_onceonlyinit error and compilation stops.

I have removed kerberos from the configure.php and added enable-pic, but no luck, yet.

Any leads?
