After we had some problems with outgoing mail I updated Dovecot to version 1.0.rc27. Now I don´t receive e-mail anymore. The pop accounts are connecting normal but there is coming nothing. I also created a IMAP account and this connect also but shows an empty mailbox. When I go with SSH to cd /home/myaccount/mail/myaccount.com and open 1 of the users there, I see there a plenty of e-mails.
The server is receiving the mails but users can´t get them. Does somebody how to resolve this?

When I look in the IMAP directory of this account, then there are no e-mails in the user accounts. It seems the server is sending the e-mails to wrong place.

I just compared the 2 server we have running with DA and the difference is that on the server with problems the account have an directory called mail. I don´t know if this was created with the Dovecot update or the patch I runned after the EXIM update. All incoming e-mail is going to the mail directory now

The server with problems is looking:
domains imap itron_backups mail Maildir public_html

The one without problems:
backups domains imap Maildir public_html

I had already dovecot running on the server and didn´t convert this time because this was done already

Hey,

So, basically everything was OK before you updated Dovecot?

Do the logs show any errors, information that may help?

David

The server had an incorrect exim.conf file on it; either it was never updated or a previous exim.conf file somehow ended up overwriting the new one. And it worked because the old mailboxes had not been deleted.

Rerunning [/b]./build todovecot[/b] resolved the problem.
