Well, I don't know if I'm allowed to post this one, but since I made the effort to register I might as well do so...

I uploaded all my files to the public folder to test the whole thing. The "under construction" was releived of duty.

But, everytime I went to my site the error page came up that I had no permission on this server.
For almost two hours I was going through hell thinking about the problem but to no avail.
Finally I subscribed to the DirectAdmin forum and was planning a big noob question. (I'm a designer and have only basic knowledge of the net)

But all of a sudden (after reading a lot of error posts), I noticed one little difference in my Index.html file and the previous one from the "under construction"
The new one had a capital "I" in Index.html.

Changed the Index.html to index.html and all was fixed....

Man...... I felt like a complete moron.

So, maybe other noobs will have the same problem someday without knowing that one capital makes the difference between forbidden or acces granted :).

thank you very much...

www.fanerose.com (for the moment it's still in dutch, but the English translation will come)

Your pointer is a good one; many people who've used only Windows previously don't realize that capitalization makes a difference in Linux and Unix.

I've moved the thread; it belongs under User-Level Difficulties.

Its also recommended that you don't use spaces in file names otherwise you get %20 in place of the actual space in the url.
