Howdy,

Not quite sure how to phrase this. Basically I manage a list for a small group and they have asked me to have the Listserver (majordomo) automatically insert bracket tag in the Subject line as a way for the users to filter the messages.

Example:

To: [email protected]
From: [email protected]
Subject: [blahlist] inserting filter tags

Having looked at the DA configuration page for Majordomo, its clear to me that I have no idea how to do this.

ideas?

For the DA employee:

To those DA folks reading this, is it really such a difficult task to write a good help page describing the Majordomo configuration tools?

Almost every majordomo question on this forum comes back to the fact that tyour documentation is crap. Pushing us off to some aging FAQ that only speaks the line command version of the package is not acceptable.

I am not a software engineer or webhead. I don't want command line or UNIX speak for an answer. I just want to know how to use the GUI provided without getting a BS in computer science to do so! Dig?

DA made the GUI for Majordomo, so DA should explain how it works. And please do so with clarity.

BTW, how about adding an alternative listserver while your at it? How
about Mailman?

If your going to provide a tool for users to use - PLEASE DOCUMENT IT

Thanks.

When I edit the settings for my mailing lists, I see a "Subject Prefix" option. I would assume that is what you want to use to add something like [iamasubjectprefix] to your subject line.
