My client is using a hosting company that use a particular server (Goliath) that was built specifically for backwards compatibility for websites that use FP extensions & other older software. It is a new server but he loaded PHP 4.4.8 & MySQL 4.1.10 to ensure the other programs would work properly.

However, I need PHP5 installed in order for my Joomla site to work for my client... is there a way I can just disable the FP extensions & install PHP 5? I checked the forum & it looks like their are many others using Joomla on DirectAdmin servers, so there must be a way to do this. However, there might be issues as to whether the upgrade can be done at the User level? It might have to be done at the Server Admin level (but I don't know this, it's just a guess).
