There is no Apache. It reports it as down and when I do a;

service httpd restart

it reports;

httpd: unrecognized service

Everything else under DirectAdmin except Apache and php works awesome, but no go on the Apache...

I have also tried apache, apache2 ,etc... All unrecognized services...

System Specs;
2.6Ghz Intel CPU
1024MB PC3200 DDR 400
250GB WD x 2 Mirrored
CentOS 4.1 (updated today before install)

Retried the install, tried the customapache install with the post on the forums, they all fail to invoke the Apache service...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

apachectl start
-bash: apachectl: command not found

That's what I get when I tried... Just did a rebuild of the Server and I get the same roblem with no Apache installed at all.

Any ideas as to what could be going on... I want to buy a Lifetime license, but I won't unless this problem can be resolved.

Thanks!

Whoever is doing the DA install needs to check for errors while the installer is trying to setup httpd.

You can try running customapache (search these forums for exact instructions) and watching to see if it gets properly built.

Or you can ask DirectAdmin support to help you.

Thanks, I do appreciate the help...

As for DA Support, I thought they only provided support on purchased licenses?

Thanks!

I'm sure they'd at least answer a question for you, and being they've made a lot of installation, I bet they'd be able to figure out the problem quickly.

Doesn't hurt to ask.
