Installing DirectAdmin Without Entering License Key During Setup

I’m setting up DirectAdmin on a Ubuntu server and would like to install it without entering the license key immediately. Ideally, I’d like to complete the installation first and then activate the license afterward.

My goal is to streamline the setup and take care of licensing once I have everything in place.

If anyone has experience with this approach or can suggest any specific configurations or adjustments to achieve this, I would greatly appreciate your insights. I’ve read a bit about auto-install options and other potential workarounds but haven’t found a clear solution. Any guidance or tips would be really helpful.

just use command creat a empty skip_get_license file

touch /root/.skip_get_license

now you cann install DA whitout license key

Be aware you can only streamline configs by console. Directadmin -wont- start if you don't use the license, which offcourse will throw in an error.

Hey getting this error even though i have execute this

touch /root/.skip_get_license

Job for directadmin.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status directadmin.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
[setup.sh] Failed to start directadmin service, please make sure you have a valid license

It can install DA without a license, but it will not start DA, because starting it requires a license
