I have issued my certificate and received two files ( from godaddy.com )

gd_bundle.crt
and www.domain.com.crt

how do i go about and install my certificate ?

I read the help files and it says to insert the lines between ---- BEGIN CERTIFICATE --- .......... ----- END CERTIFICATE ----

and this is where i get confused.

gd_bundle has 1 of these
and www.domain.com.crt has 3

which one do i paste ?

do i need to copy these files to my /private_html directory ?

thanks in advance

That's because GoDaddy has sent you generic information for installing a Certificate manually. This is not compatible with DirectAdmin.

Information on installing a DirectAdmin Certificate can be found here; this site is an invaluable DirectAdmin resource.

The Certificate file with your domain name in it contains one Certificate; the lines should all be be pasted directly under the Private Key lines already there; then click on Save.

The contents of the file with the word bundle in it should be pasted into the Root Certificate section. The the link above for more information.

Or next time buy your Certificate from a company supporting DirectAdmin :).

When i open my SSL panel (before i touched anything) there were already these lines:

-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
......
-----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
....................
-----END CERTIFICATE-----

to which i add my domain (certificate file) and it says everything is ok, then i add my gd_bundle.crt file into the ca root section, making sure the CA section is ok... it tells me everything is ok, your sire should be secure within few minutes but its still the same. when i go to browser it says, this certificate is self-asigned

You should only have one certificate in your SSL control panel, directly under the Private Key.

Is your gd_bundle.crt file in the same format as the other files?

You may need someone to log in and help you figure out the problem. We sell Certificates with installation for less than we charge to log into your server, so you'll probably want to find someone else besides me :).

Can you please recommend a company where I should buy my SSL Certificate? Is there any overview that list suchlike?

Thanks!

As far as I know none of the major Certificate companies offer DirectAdmin installation support; a Google search doesn't show any :(.

But you can find a summer sale advert from a respected DirectAdmin support vendor, posted in these forums (in the Advertising section), here. :)

Hi Jeff,

GlobalSign offer an install guide...

But more importantly I am getting the following error installing a cert:

The cert is an EV cert, and as the new requirements are coming live in a years time, we got a 2 year cert which is using an
RSA Public Key: (2048 bit)

----------------------------------------------------------------
Cannot Execute Your Request

Details

Key is Invalid
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Can DA handle it?

I have installed teh CA root certs and that is aok :)

Thanks,
Chris
