instead of website rendering, getting "webserver is functioning normally" message

I am a new user of DirectAdmin, your help is highly appreciated.
I added a domain https://staging.truprojects.in/ and installed WordPress on it. But instead of WordPress, I can see only this message "webserver is functioning normally"

I am not sure what I am missing, I have experience managing websites on cPanel and Cyberpanel, but it is my first time using this DirectAdmin.

So, kindly someone guide me to fix the website rendering.

If you setup your DNS and nameservers correctly, it will render correctly automatically.

Is the domain truprojects.in from you? If yes, don't add staging.truprojects.in as a seperate domain name but add it as a subdomain.
 
I was able to connect the domains and now index.html files are rendering. But Wordpress PHP files are not loading and getting 503 server error

Could anyone help to get the cgxperts.net loads the Wordpress website.
 
If you'd like to see what's going wrong with the server, you could watch your logs in DirectAdmin in the log viewer, or on SSH in the following location:

tried to access the error log with the above command, but got the message as Permission denied.
 
I've only shown you what the file is. If you want to read it, you'll need to use the following command (This is only to show what's inside the file, it does not edit or change anything about the file)

This is not causing your issue, but be aware that if you want to send mail from this server, you need to set the rDNS/PTR record to the hostname.

It seems the error might be caused due to capacity problems.

a.) What CPU do you have?
b.) How many RAM do you have and what's left of it (you can use the free command to see)
c.) Do you have a swap partition or file available, (will also be shown with the free command)
d.) Do you have enough free disk space, check with the df -h command.

It's a new VPS with
CPU cores: 4
RAM: 16 GB
Bandwidth: 4 TB
Disk space: 200 GB
And I am not using for any emails, just trying to install a fresh Wordpress and unable to access it, when I have created a simple index.html it's getting rendered. But Wordpress's index.php is giving the above 503 error.

Exactly how new? Did you wait untill the full install has finished? Because DA installs very fast these days, but all the rest is compiled then still in the background.
So if you instantly start creating domains and stuff then errors can appear.

You will get a ticket (inside DA) stating that the installation is finished.

Can you check your service status what is running?
Or maybe better in SSH?
ps auxfw | grep php-fpm

And you do have swap present too right?

I had a couple of issues and now got rid of them all.
The only issue left is Lets Encrypt SSL getting issued to
  • server-89-116-52-173.da.direct instead of user domains. I tried to issue a certificate for both, the main domain and sub-domain, but for both, I got a certificate issued on the above domain.
    Am I missing something?

LetsEncrypt SSL certificates are in base send to hostname and due to the SNI settings you can issue domain.tld certificates on it. If I understood everything correctly.

The server-ip.da.direct is a hostname. To request a certificate for that a manual action is required.
Like this:

and then a certificate for this hostname is created. However, this should already by done by default.

What you might experience here is that this da.direct domain name is not yours. As far as I'm concerned (opinions might differ), one can best create ones own hostname based on the servers domain name.

Hope this can fix things for you. Ofcourse change "core.mydomain.com" to the server hostname you like, but to prevent issues, do not use a hostname like mail.domain.com or imap.domain.com but rather server.domain.com or something like that.

Don't forget to manually request a new SSL certificate for the hostname afterwards.
