Hi! Newbie here using DA

I recall initially performing an update on Almalinux with dnf check-update && dnf update before installing DA, but its been a while since and dnf check-update is showing a lot of updates pending.

Is it safe/recommended to run periodically on a production server?

Went all over the docs and could not find a clear answer.

Thanks!

We always update all packages that received since centos 6. So with centos 7, almalinux 8 - no problem with server and DA for last 12 years.

If you have a dev server you can certainly test there first. Redhat and other application providers regularly provide security and bug fixes. I'm curious what others do, but I run dnf up once a week.

Yes, there is no another way to keep your system updated.
I'm just DON'T use apt dist-uprgade. But you decide for your situation, sometimes you need this to solve dependencies.
