Is this permitted and will it work?

I want to move license A from from server1 to server2, and server2's license to server1 so that I can allow more users on server2.( different license types) What I was going to do is just switch the ip's.

Will this work, or will I have issues?

As long you keep the IP address with your license and make the necessary changes in your client portal this should not be an problem

This might cause an issue. Best is to create backups of the users first, so you won't get into issues about too many users.
Especially if one of the licenses is a personal license.

Nah, don't be scared. Just create your backups first. There is also an option to ask for a temp license, so you're not stuck with a more expensive license.
You might need a temp license anyway, to prevent the customer area from complaining a license already exists on another ip.

Are you using a personal license on one of the servers?

It's not the switching of licenses, that is the easy part.
It's the amount of users permitted on one of the licenses. So that's why I advised a temp license.
That way the users and licenses can be switch easily without unneeded costs.
