Ok i am really new to DA so not sure if i've done things right. I've got a multi server setup but i've been having some issues.

On the first server i have the main domain and two name servers ns1.domain.com and ns2.maindomain.com.
The host name (not sure if it matters) is host.maindomain.com.
I have turned on multi server and entered the ip of the second server.
I have both Zone Transfer Domain Check ticked.

On the second server i have no domain on the admin account and two name servers ns3.maindomain.com and ns4.maindomain.com
The host name is server.maindomain.com.
Multi server is on and again both options ticked.

Is this right?

The problems i am having is mainly with emails. A lot of emails arent reaching external or internal account. The issues only seems to be with the second server and there are no errors. What should i do?

Any help would be great.

Best Regards, George

What have you found when looking in the mail logs?

Thanks for your response. Its very difficult to work through as i'm not really sure what i'm looking for. I have 2000 users on that server so the mail logs are huge. I did a search for the email and the username name of the account i tested and i could't find a log entry.

Give us more informations, otherwise it will be very difficult to help you.
At least:
  • real domains, hostnames and IP addresses
  • which internal or external email address doesn't receive messages
  • complete log lines with the errors for external delivery failures

I can PM you this information if your ok with that. I'm not happy to post it in the forums.

Best Regards, George

The issue isn't that I'm trying to hide anything. There is nothing illegal. I know this thread will in all likelihood be indexed by search engines and i would not be happy for the domain to be linked to this thread. I really hope you can help me and i will give you whatever information you need but i am not happy to post the domain, dns, ips in this thread.

Thank you for understanding.

Best Regards, George

I'm well aware of the risks involved in this page being indexed and cached by search engines with your domain name and IP addresses: there are no risks.
I know what I'm talking about: I'm a security analyst.
When you have an IP address, it's because you want access to Internet. When you have a domain, it's because you want people to remember the address of your server. If you were concerned by any of the very, very specific risks of having your IP address divulgated, you wouldn't have a domain with records that point to it.

Unless, of course, you are ashamed of your question and don't want to disclose that on your business's name: that's a point that can be solved by asking a professional consultant, instead of seeking for free help.

Anyway, I don't feel like continuing this conversation: sometimes I'm a paranoid myself, so I'll let you win :) just give me that data in private and I'll tell you if I see anything wrong.

So you don't want anybody to know what your domain is? That's is weird. I post my domain anywhere I can except the bad neighborhoods. This is a good neighborhood. Posting your domain here can only help you.

tillo, i've sent you a PM thank you for your help.

floyd, its not that i don't want people knowing this domain, i would really like people everywhere to know it but i don't want it related to this thread. I have good reasons but i don't want to discuss them. Thank you understanding.

Best Regards, George

Edit: just though id add, tillo deserves a medal. He is going out of his way to helps me out.

George,

You're asking people who normally earn $100+ per hour to help you for free. Most of us are happy to do that for you, as time and resources permit, but we want our answers to help others besides you.

And we want to be able to use the tools we have and the knowledge we have, to help you.

For that we need to know exactly what you're having a problem with.

Jeff
