Hello,

I am having issues receiving emails, I get some notifications from DA for bruteforce etc, but no emails received when I send myself from gmail. I've tried to reinstall dovecot and exim and still nothing.

I can send just fine.

Please help out.
Thanks

I've you tried searching problem emails through the logs? Read the mainlog in real time using tail -f while sending an email from your gmail account, to see what happens to it.

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I did tail -f, nothing happens at all, it's just blank.

The email doesn't return to sender either (my gmail account)

Thanks.

If you don't see a delivery attempt from gmail at all, then look for one of these issues:

Perhaps you've spelled your domain name wrong when sending yourself email from Google.

Perhaps you've recently added or changed your IP# for your domain, and gmail is attempting to send it elsewhere.

Perhaps for some reason you're firewalling gmail and it can't send you email.

In any of the cases where gmail can't send you email on multile attempts it should eventually return the email to you with a reason why. Unless the email is being delivered elsewhere, gmail will eventually return it and let you know why, and then you'll be able to figure it out.

Actually, that doesn't seem to be the case at all... and what I did was...sent an email from squirrelmail (DA), to gmail, once I receive it on gmail, I just replied..and there's nothing.

Finally today I got an error message, does this mean anything?

I checked the dns records, they seem to be ok on the registrar...

Is domain.ca your domain?

If not, maybe you've missconfigured something on the squirrelmail account on reply-to address or something similar...

Regards

Well.. if you provide real domain we can check it and give real information... till that moment everything would just be a suggestion...

Provide your real domain so we can do a check with that.

Hi, so for dns I am using the domain isparea.com...

So I have

ns1.isparea.com (managed and registered on name cheap) and pointing to my first ip address.
ns2.isparea.com (managed and registered on name cheap) and pointing to my second ip address.

I set in admin options on DA these name servers.

What am I doing wrong?

Thx

Are definitly wrong configured, those NS have no IP assigned, no A record on domain isparea.com for ns1 and ns2.

The GMAIL error was pretty clear:
DNS Error: DNS server returned general failure

You need to fix the domain isparea.com, add needed a record to point to correct IP, and once that, check intodns.com link i gave and if everything is green you should be fine.

Awesome!!!

The setup was correct on namecheap.com, the problem was in DA -> DNS Administration, the domain didn't exist there!!! added that an the email came through :)

Thanks!

Well if you did not add the domain on DA that was the issue, if you did, you may consider to check logs and understand why DNS wasnt created on DA Server.
