Let multiple domains use the same public_html

Does someone know how to setup a server so multiple domains use the same public_html. One public_html should serve 50 domains.

One of my customers requested such a configuration because he has written a website which uses the PHP function: $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']. A redirect is therefore no option.
