License has expired BEFORE one month has passed?

I started a DirectAdmin trial on 12/7.

When I go to the site that the trial was hosting, the page now says License has expired.

I just want to evaluate this software so I can move to it permanently. Why is my license expired?

did you meant, '12 July' or '7 December' ?

did you install more than ONE Server ( 2 Server in same time) ?
new system, DA will expired license on old server.

I installed about 4 times on the same Linode node with no issues. I also generated a new key.

And I do mean December 7.

License still says active and not expired on the client panel, but I am unable to access my DirectAdmin control panel.
 
Hello, can you post the license ID#? There is no security risk in doing this. I will personally check the logs for you.

However I am already upgrading to an actual license.

I see no problem with the license, but our logs are showing multiple servers have used this license -- I think because of you rebuilding your Linode VM. At any time, were there 2+ machines running? They could of been competing with each other for the license.

Right now I am seeing no active sessions, so if you install now, it should work fine. You should not see License Expired...

Also, make sure the server date/clock is correct
 
I never had more than one instance going.

Thank you DAsales and Richard G for looking into this. I am going to reinstall one more time and I will probably need to open a ticket if I can't figure out the directory changing upon SSL cert installation mystery.
 
This is very strange, please open a ticket at https://tickets.directadmin.com so a tech can look into it deeper

I am in sales but can still try to help here. What is the new license iD#?

And if you do:

cd /usr/local/directadmin/scripts
./getLicense.sh YourKey

Could you paste the output of what happens next?
 
My license ID is still 252853, I upgraded my existing trial license.

I am going to run the license script again and will update with the result.

edit: license update returned 'Success!!', and I am restarting the directadmin service.
 
So the admin login page shows up again after the license refresh.

But now when I try to log in, it flashes "Logged in" and then goes right back to an empty page. No error or anything.
 
In the support ticket, mind sharing the admin password? In the meantime let me examine the logs
 
Here is what I found. Our licensing system involves constant communication between our server and yours. It looks like after the installation, your server(s) were only communicating with our server via IPv6 -- which normally is no problem at all. But a trial license is more heavily restricted, and because this was outside of the license IP, DA refused to start up. If IPv6 was disabled, you never would of seen this problem actually.

There is no restrictions on regular licenses, and this is why your paid license worked. At least the mystery is solved. :)

Interesting, thank you. I have a new, weird problem now with the login page but I'm going to close this thread and keep things within the Ticket.

edit: turns out I'm not closing anything but please consider the license issue Solved!
