License renewal anomalies

License renewal problems...

This shows recent license renewal history for one of our systems:

000000809 License File has been updated 10/01/2004
000000810 License File has been updated 10/02/2004
000000811 *** Your license has passed its expiry and is in a grace period *** 10/03/2004
000000812 *** An error has occurred while trying to update the license file *** 10/03/2004
000000813 *** Your license has passed its expiry and is in a grace period *** Today at 04:00
000000814 License File has been updated Today at 04:01

What I'm most curious about is how come the license file was updated on the 1st and on the 2nd, but was still passed it's expiry on 10/03 and on 10/04?

It did finally get updated, but is anyone else experiencing these anomalies?

Yes mine renewed ok a couple of days ago and then today I got another message saying..


New License is invalid: Unable to read the contents of the license

It happened last month too and DA support resolved it quickly but we haven't got to the bottom of it - did you?

No, but DA told me at some point in the past it could happen if the update server had problems connecting.

Perhaps the update server gets too busy?

I don't know. I do know that we've never gone so far that the system failed to operate.

Today I noticed two days in a row mine is not updating either now. Hopefully it is just a random anomoly as I do have paying clients on the server in question. I would hope it is something generally isolated and not a real big problem.
