Hello,

One of my partners and I thought up a great idea the other day that we would like to see implented within DirectAdmin one day and would like the feedback of the community. At our usual marketing meeting we came up with some good ideas but this won took the cake. We want to offer resellers unlimited space and bandwidth however, this unlimited is only good for a certain amount of clients the reseller has before needing to get another reseller unit.

We were wondering if it is possible to implant how many users a reseller is allowed to have. It would be fairly easy to integrate and as for the resellers you may already have, you may not want them to have a limit so it would probably be a good idea that any users already on the server before the upgrade would be defaulted unlimited but could be changed at a later time if desired.

Any comments, questions or suggestions anyone? What do you think?

As far as I can see, this IS implemented. When you create reseller packages you limit how many domains they can have.

But you also have to limit subdomains otherwise the admin would be able to create a lot of accounts using subdomains off of his account.

I wouldn't mind being able to limit number of accounts created as well since thats how I originally thought it would work and thought domain slots only a now/temporary solution.

Limiting the number of domains is not the same as limiting the number of clients.
1 client could have 10 domains

What you are looking at is limiting the number of unique logins ie. users with access to the control panel.
Correct?

Hello,

If all users have at least 1 domain, then limiting the reseller to 10 domains would imply that no more than 10 users would be the limit.

However , if the users are created with unlimited domains, there'll be no way to control no. of users.

I dun see any hosting plans that restrict you to 1 domain. Even if there is, no one will sign up such a plan.
