Hello,

As you all know, not all disk partitions are created equal :)

Right now DA can limit accumulated disk usage, but can't help avoiding excessive usage of /var.

Unfortunatelt, some web savvy users tend to think of their mailboxes stored on the server as their own remote storage.

It would be nice to see this issue addressed in DA.

Thank you.

Very interested in this also.
Or at least I would like to have a quick solution how-to move the var/spool/virtual email folder to the /home folder without breaking up things.

Thanks,
Ed,

Well if you dont want them using all the space then dont give them the space. You can also not use /var as a partition by itself too and just symlink it to another area.

The size of var should of been thought of when setting up the server.

Whenever I used to have servers where I ran out of room I just moved everything from /var to /usr/var then symlinked /usr/var back to /var.

Thank you for contributing.
However, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that this is Feedback & Feature Requests forum, not Admin difficulties :)

In addition, there is a better way dealing with full partitions on Linux - LVM. Your approach utlimately identifies you as FreeBSD fan ;) But either way incurs administration overhead which can and should be avoided.

This feature request isn't about something DA users can't do on their end, it's about increased productivity.

Does it make sense?

Im guessing your question is to move where things are stored on directadmin then? I guess I really did not understand that in the beginning. Yes I knew about LVM but I am a freebsd user so I dont use stuff like that :)

I was just simply trying to provide solution for a problem.
