Basically, im a reseller and im trying to create a subdomain for a user because he doesnt have a domain of his own and doesnt want to use the IP all the time. Iv created subdomain (paul.my-domain.com) and a user account (paul) and stated on that account that the domain is paul.my-domain.com.

I noticed they different folders, but how can i get paul.my-domain.com to go straight to his public_html directory? At the moment that subdomain doesnt work at all.....

Thanks in advance

Did you set it up as a subdomain on your account? Or inside the new account?

For it to work the way you both want it to you need to create it as an entirely separate account, not as a subdomain.

I set it up on my account.....the subdomain uses my domain and i want him to be able to use a subdomain that iv made him with his own log ins and stats etc.

You do not set the subdomain up through your account. You just use the subdomain as the primary domain of his account.

Yeah thats what i said i done if you read the first post lol

thanks

Then you didn't do it right because the domain should have then show up as if it were a root domain /home/paul/domains/paul.my-domain.com/

ok i'll explain again. when i log in with his details he has the directory

/domains/paulh.my-domain.co.uk/public_html/

when i set his account up i put the domain as paulh.my-domain.co.uk so surely i need to add that subdomain to my list for it to work???!

if not, what am i doing wrong that i cant put that subdomain into my browser and it will work.

another thing, when i put in:

http://*root-IP*/~paulh/

it comes up as normal with the words

Welcome to the home of paulh.my-domain.co.uk
To change this page, upload your website into the public_html directory

If your talking about adding the subdomain as a subdomain through the subdomain management page of your reseller's user level, no.

I just want to add that without real domain information it's impossible to test to see what the problem might be.

Are you talking in riddles? LOL

Start from scratch, tell me how you would set up an account that used a subdomain of the domain you were using......
