I am headache when checking on Linux distribution, there are too many version.

I have email to DirectAdmin, they ask me to use CentOS or Fedora.

But i found out that even this 2 distribution got many version.

May i know which 1 is the better?

CentOS is more stable and long-life. I'd go with CentOS 5.x.

Latest version of CentOS (5.1) at present.

Use x86 if you have a 32-bit processor.
Use x86-64 if you have a 64-bit processor. (Be aware it can be harder to get some stuff running under 64-bit -- but it is faster!)
