Load Average Warning

Hi,

I have a Dedicated Server where I have my site hosted. I have been recently getting System Load average warning messages. One of the messages is as below 0

This is an automated message notifying you that the 5 minute load average on your system is 10.46.
This has exceeded the 10 threshold.

Any idea what is cuasing this and what do i do to fix it ?

A snapshot of the top command doesn't really give enough information.

Does anything on your site seem slow?

I've posted on my site a script you can use which will restart Apache whenver your server reaches a certain load. If you use it then your system will try to self-correct itself, and will usually succeed.

Theres also topvhost (http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32283) which lists the number of requests per website

For mysql theres mytop (http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24217) so you can monitor mysql related loads.
