Sorry I missed it.

You want to use

If you get any errors post them. Just saying "dont work" doesn't help us a lot.

The login page does not come up. Yet apache is functioning. Mail is working and it seemd to be filtering spam.

If I telnet I get this:

[root@plet /root]# telnet 196.33.14.74 2222
Trying 196.33.14.74...
Connected to 196.33.14.74.
Escape character is '^]'.

I truly don't know what more to say ( to dumb)

what happens if you telnet to it from your PC (that you are using to download via the browser)?

(it looks like your telnet above is from another server)

Start --> Run --> CMD (press enter)

>telnet 196.33.14.74 2222

if it says connected (like above in your post) - then you will know it is more than likely a browser issue. (do you have anti-spam/anti-phishing software protecting your browser).

Please do not post in an existing thread that has nothing to do with your question. Start a new thread or search the forum for existing threads. There are plenty of existing threads related to your question that have solutions.

@floyd:

I've moved the posts to a new thread.

@erastuscoetzee:

Please do not hijack threads for other purposes.

If it's your server check to make sure your IP# isn't blocked by DirectAdmin; that's the most likely cause, since I can reach the login page. Another cause could be your ISP is blocking traffic over port 2222 but that's unlikely, since your test shows the connection is made.

If it's not your server ask your hosting company to help you.
