I am looking for a replacement for CPanel or Plesk for our 100+ websites. There are a number of things I need to consider.

* We need to be able to offer sub accounts so that people can make changes to their own websites if needed. This only happens rarely but sometimes it is needed. Hence we are looking for a reseller solution.
* We need to have reasonable isolation between sub accounts. That is we wouldn’t like malware from one customer’s poorly patched WordPress site infect other customer’s WordPress websites. Currently our approach has been to have a subscription to CloudLinux but I am open to alternative solutions (if necessary).
* We need an “upgrade path” from Plesk to DirectAdmin. There are just too many sites to transfer to do this by hand. We would need some kind of API that we can use to upload tar balls, import databases to MySQL and install SSL certificates via some kind of automated script. (I am aware that we might need to commit resources to coming up with that script but it needs to be possible).
* We want to automate as much of our business operation as possible so having a comprehensive API for DirectAdmin would help in that respect.
* Commercial support and what hours that support is available

Extra bonus points but not an immediate requirement are:

* We have other sites Wagtail / Django / Python websites which when we started building those sites we had limited options in terms of usable admin web panels. It would be great if DirectAdmin would help us to get everything under one roof.

There may be other things I may not have thought of but those are some things that have been at the forefront lately.

Would DirectAdmin be a good fit for us?

Thanks.

I am not Sales.
reseller solution
DA has resellers function
CloudLinux
Its cloudlinux compatible. They also have Bubble wrap jail shell.
Plesk to DirectAdmin
There is no native path to DA from Plesk. There is a request but it only has 1 vote https://feedback.directadmin.com/b/feature-requests/plesk-migration-tool
You can migrate from Plesk > cPanel > DA. Otherwise its all manual. I can say the Company is open to creating things if asked. So far not many want to leave Plesk.
API for DirectAdmin
Commercial support and what hours that support is available
Depends on what the word support means to you. I would just look here. https://directadmin.com/support.php
DA is open Mon - Fri 9AM - 5PM MST
Python websites
You would need Pro Pack.

The best thing to do is contact [email protected] directly. Also Get a Trial and just try it. I hope this helps and I am sure other will chime in.

Just for general info read.

* We need to have reasonable isolation between sub accounts.
DA has admin, reseller and accounts. Admin is also a reseller and a user, so it's an all in 1 account.
Admin can create seperate resellers with reseller packages.
Every reseller is also user and can create other users, so non-reseller user accounts.
So lets say you have admin, he created reseller A. Then reseller A can also create domains, however, these are on the same account, so there are possibility's that there is not enough isolation.

However, as reseller A, you can create user A, user B, user C etc. and these are seperate user accounts which can have more then 1 domains.
There is good isolation between useraccounts A, B, C and so on.

If you prefer Cloudlinux, that is also an option ofcourse. DA supports Cloudlinux.
