Hi,

today a user informed me that he sent an email from our server to our server but the recipient didn´t receive it.

I have checked the exim maillog and I have found a virtual_localdelivery entry and then a completed entry.

Where can I check how the message got lost?

TIA,
Mike

Those are the only entries you'll get on a completed delivery.

You can try duplicating the situation and watch the mbox file at the same time with the "tail -f" command, to see if the mail gets delivered.

Also check for a forward the mailbox owner may have forgotten about.

Unfortunately the missing email is not reproduceable and it occurs only a few times a month.

Already checked ... no forwards.

Is there anywhere a detailed POP3 log where I can check if the email was fetched from the client?

TIA,
Mike
