mail folders Uebimiau / Squirrelmail not compatible

I am not sure whether my subject covers the load exactly, but the following is what I observe:

When I make mail folders in Squirrelmail, I can 'see' and access them through IMAP (I use Outlook Express).

Those folders are NOT visible when I log in using Uebimiau! When I make mail folders with Uebimiau, they are not visible through IMAP nor are they visible to Squirrelmail.

So I can't really use IMAP with Uebimiau - is this a known limitation ("feature") of Uebimiau? And secondly, if I want to move email into archive folders, I won''t be able to access those mails anymore through Uebimiau. With Squirrelmail it works fine (so why not use it... - well it looks a bit too much My-first-Sony :-\)

As an afterthought: I have made the transformation to Dovecot. Maybe this changes matters...?

Uebimail is not an IMAP webmail client....SM is.

The problem is that UebiMiau advertises itself as working with either IMAP or POP3.

It does. But it doesn't store anything using IMAP protocols. It uses it's own protocols and mailboxes.
