All of the sudden, after no changes to the system .. I get 'relayed denied' when sending to accounts on the server from gmail and outlook directly...

Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 13): 550 5.7.1 <[email protected]>... Relaying denied

No configuration has been changed .. When DirectAdmin was installed (1 month ago) things ran fine.

Any ideas?
I have also ran the DA script to re-create the /etc/virtual files as well.

Check your /var/log/exim/mainlog and your /var/log/exim/rejectlog files.

yea, thats the first thing i did .. i get nothing ... i ran a tail -f on my exim logs and got nothing, literally, when sending mail to my server from gmail. im stumped

oddly enough, when using the server as the smtp server from outlook .. i get an 'unknown error' (pop3 logs in fine)

Check DNS for your domain for A and MX records. Post enough information here (domain name, IP#, properly setup email address, at a minimum) for us to help you.

Use a mailbox you set up just for the test; that way you can delete when we're all done testing.
