And it looks like it's because none of the domains has a postmaster@domainname email address. Is there supposed to be one?

postmaster@domainname isn't a valid email address. If your system is trying to return emails to any postmaster address, and it doesn't exist, then that could easily fill your mail queue under certain situations.

With over 8000 emails in your queue it's doubtful that any email is making it in or out in a timely manner. You should freeze all undeliverable emails and then remove all frozen emails; there should be pointers in these forums.

Well I assumed someone would figure out that I wouldnt of put a valid email address on here so all the spam spiders could catch onto it. It seems it's emails trying to get to all of the domains with postmaster@ in front of them. And reading the forums, I see that domains are supposed to have a [email protected] (Warning: This is not the real domain name or a valid email address) for the domains.

In general accepted practice is to use example.com or example.net when posting examples. In fact those two domains are actually reserved for such use.

I understand your need for privacy, but I have no idea if those postmaster addresses are to or from domains on your server. Nor do I want to spend a lot of time trying to figure out what is a hard-to-understand situation at best.

Hopefully someone else will respond.

I could log into your system and fix the problem and tell you exactly what caused it, but I offer that only as a commercial service. What I do not do is answer questions in private messages on the forum... I feel that if I'm offering my valuable time to help people then I want to do that on an open forum where many can benefit.

In the meantime, please see the rest of my original reply; it does contain information on what you can do, and in fact, it tells you how I'd start if you did hire me, probably what almost any administrator would do.

Another source for this...

Another source for this seems to be when someone not related to you or your server uses your servers domain for their spam.
I get email returned to my server that was never sent from it, you can fake the "email from" when sending spam...
I am not sure that spam cop or other spam sites penalize you for this as the IP does not match ???
