Major Custombuild issue

after updating apache2/php2/modperl using the latest custombuild, the install crashed out at modperl and ever since i have ben unable to get a working copy of apache up, tried reinstalling multiple times deleteing the configuation* etc etc

any help would be greatly appreciated
