mapping subdomains to different accounts

Hi,

I'm running TYPO3 on a virtual server.

I am using a DNS server provided by the company from which I lease my dedicated server.

I created a Zone for mydomain.com on this server and then several subdomains:

mydomain.com
sub1.mydomain.com
sub2.mydomain.com
sub3.mydomain.com


I want to map these subdomains to different TYPO3 instances.

Because if I map them to the same instance then I have to use the same database to contain all the sites and

I want to avoid this.

Can I map sub1.mydomain.com to one instance and sub2.mydomain.com to another instance on the same account or a different account?

Since Apache and DirectAdmin are using name-based hosting, as long as you have separate subdomains set up in DirectAdmin the subdomains will use completely different subdirectories.

As to whether this will result in separate TYPO3 instances, I don't have any idea, and based on the fact that you've gotten no other responses in a week, I'd guess no one else does either. If you've set up separate instances of TYPO3 for each subdomain, and if TYPO3 supports that, then I suppose it would work.

But if you need support you'd be better off on a TYPO3 forum.
