Memory Usage

My server have been slowing down quite a fair bit lately. Something have been using up the memory. Most of the time the memory usage is like that.

Free Memory 16388 kB
Load Average 0.15, 0.23, 0.24

Is this acceptable? If not, what could be the most likely application that take up memory space?

It looks clean to me. Check top if you're still concerned about it.

Current memory usage

Mem: 1018508k total, 989700k used, 28808k free, 127140k buffers
Swap: 2031608k total, 192k used, 2031416k free, 466148k cached

No too sure is this a concern, but the free memory is always below 30% and most of the time it is at 15%.

You don't mention your OS Distribution.

I don't know exactly how BSD does it, but Linux manages most of the system memory. Which means that the system will say it's in use but it's available for Linux as soon as any process needs it.
