It would be good (IMO) if we could set different email addresses for:

The Load Checks;
The Process Monitors (if any go down);

(So if we have different staff/departments monitoring the servers etc)

I suppose, that they would suggest to use any kind of email sorting and filtering features of a POP3/IMAP client. Some kind of a fetchmail or helpdesk...

As it comes from "Message System", it'll be difficult to tell which is which.... Or am I missing your point here?

I ask this because I work alone, I would like to have the load and process emails to be sent to another address, that way I can set up an audible alarm (like a pop3 checker) for when I'm asleep (not much believe me!).

Of course, I can use a separate script for the load and process checks then use different emails there. Just thought I ask anyhow. :)

Sorting emails on their subject.

I believe, there're some 3rd part filtering systems, that can sort email on any header or it's part, and re-send them or put in a specified POP3/IMAP folder.

where are these settings? I dont get any alerts.

It's good, if you don't, while everything is ok.

If you're admin in directadmin and specified a correct email, you will get messages if something go wrong.

Stop named/bind via SSH (not in Directadmin) and wait about 2 minutes, you should get a warning message into your email box.

stopped named from shell checked and service was down in DA. double checked email address in message system ok.

never got any email from da server?

any ideas anyone?

Ok, I suppose, I've missed one thing... the alert will be sent, when a service is down and can not be started by Directadmin.

You can check it out with an error in named.conf, just input some chars in the begging.
Stop named, sure that named is not starting on demand. And wait a message.
