Migration from FreeBSD over to CentOS (full reinstall)

Hi,

I have a server with FreeBSD & DA installed on it. Now, I want to use CentOS 5.3, can I just completelly reinstall OS & DA, will there be any DA license issues ?

You will have to change your license over to centos. So that requires some time and to contact directadmin support.

Also please remember that FreeBSD by default uses bsdtar, and Centos uses GNU tar.
You can install it from ports archivers/gtar
Then just move the symlink over so tar -> gtar.
Only then all backups/restores will work correctly (BSDtar sticks to POSIX standard, while GNU tar adds some stuff to it so it works differently - a small joke from GNU community to make them feel different
